Post something new
If you are a fairly new wedding photographer to the game, one thing that you should know about cultivating a certain following online is that you should take time out of your day to post something new on your social media profiles every single day. It does not have to be anything major. It does not have to be something that you have written from scratch, either. For as long as it is something that has anything to do about what you pull off as a skilled wedding photographer and about wedding photography in general, then it should be well worth the time and the effort of getting into it. Once a day for most of the social media platforms out there should be good enough.
Post several times a day
As for Twitter, you can actually get away with posting several times a day. It’s great for when you would like to update followers about any business events or when you are currently shooting a wedding and you are trying to include your audience in the loop with the things that are going on in your career or in the wedding that you are trying to shoot. You don’t have to spend too much time on it either. A few minutes up to an hour a day spent on social media should be more than enough when you come and think about it. More than that, with the advent of smart phones and other handheld devices, you can even multi task as you go along. There really is no need for a wedding photographer to really sit down and clear the rest of your other tasks while you are at it. It makes your time so much easier to manage and juggle as a wedding photographer.
Make it a point to post content that is relevant to wedding photography.
This way, your audience will know exactly what they can expect from you. There is a pretty good chance that people have started following you because they feel as if they might have a need for your services somewhere in the future or they might want to become a wedding photographer as well. Either way, this can turn out to be great for you. It is something that you will really be able to go ahead and take advantage of and something that will increase the activity in your online profiles at the end of the day. The more people get to see you and notice you, the more your following will grow over time.
Recent photo shoots
Some of the best things for you to put up as content when you are posting daily are some photos or excerpts that turned out to be your favorites from a recent wedding photo shoot you covered. You can also put in some kind of a teaser for a recent blog post that you have published on your page that might pique the interest of people. Put in a photo and then a caption about the blog entry. You can also put in your thoughts and opinions about the trends in the wedding photography industry and about what you think about other related topics. People can really appreciate interesting and out of the box views for as long as they are delivered and explained well enough. Aim to be professional and eloquent in the things that you are posting up because it is something that people will really get to look forward to for as long as you get to follow through on things as much as possible.
