While portfolios and experience matter a lot in looking for the right Grand Rapids photographer, there’s something else that many people seem to miss. That is to find a wedding photographer that is also insured. And why does this actually matter? What does an insured photographer mean to you?
Imagine that you have a job and you love it. You want to make sure that you can be successful and you invested thousands of dollars into the equipment. You definitely don’t want to lose them or risk having to replace them as time goes by! Insurance is the way to have them replaced without dealing with you another thousand of dollars.
So, what does that mean?
Your photographer is serious about his job
The first obvious reason is that your photographer cares so much about not having problems in his job that he is willing to invest hundreds of dollars into insurance. Some others prefer to spend their money otherwise, believing insurance isn’t really necessary. But wise men know that you cannot avoid problems eternally; we all made mistakes and sometimes, that involves losing our precious equipment.
But this is not unheard of; many photographers have fallen victims whether they are professional or beginners. So, if you want a photographer who shows seriousness in their job and does their best in it, insurance is a sign you shouldn’t miss. Such as the Grand Rapids photographer from Chrystin Melanie Photography.
Your venue owner probably needs it
They have been in the business for long and they have seen enough weddings. They’ve let a lot of vendors work in their space and it’s really important for them to build a good relationship with each of them. They also need to maintain the look and quality of their locations, but no matter how careful you are, accidents happen.
They need their clients’ photographers to show them proof of insurance or sadly, they cannot let them work there. Or maybe they can but with many other requirements to fulfill because they don’t want their space to have damaged interiors and decorations after your wedding!
It’s not that much of a hassle for them
And to be truthfully honest, getting an insurance is not like you are throwing hundreds of dollars into the void if you didn’t claim anything for the whole year. None of us expect people to steal our camera or lens just so we can claim for it. Or to have a typhoon hit hard enough, so we can repair our studio. It’s a type of investment and for loyal customers, they are willing to give discounts!
Getting an insurance is no big deal, but to have one can become a lifesaver for them and even you. When accidents happen during the wedding and it involves the photographer, everything can be easily solved if he is insured and you don’t have to worry about a thing.
But it becomes a big issue if the photographer has to bring this to the court in the long-term and leaves a bitter taste to your lovely wedding party. Of course, it doesn’t happen to everyone, but it doesn’t close the door of a chance to happen to your Grand Rapids photographer!
